We’re excited to roll out **Astro v3.4.0**! One of the most significant web updates to date. This release brings smarter functionality, an upgraded design system, and new ways to work visually with your AI assistant; all while aligning closer with our fast-growing mobile experience.

🖼️ Just Ask for an Image

We’ve overhauled Astro’s image generation system to make it smarter and more intuitive. You no longer need to manually switch to a visual or creative mode, just ask Astro for what you want, and it will generate an image for you directly within the conversation thread.

Whether you’re brainstorming ideas, visualizing concepts, or generating art prompts, the experience is now as seamless as asking a question.

🎨 A Fresh New Look

Astro’s entire UI has received a design refresh, bringing the web app closer to the new visual direction set by the Astro Mobile app. You’ll notice:

  • Updated styles, fonts, and colors

  • More responsive layouts
  • Cleaner scroll behavior and interaction timing

This refactor doesn’t just look better, it performs better too.

✍️ Canvas, Reimagined

We’ve redesigned the Astro Canvas experience to make editing and working with generated content more intuitive.

What used to be an inline editing experience is now a dedicated sidebar, giving you more space, control, and clarity when working with Astro-generated drafts, rewrites, and structured outputs.

Expect smoother transitions, faster access to actions, and a more focused editing environment, especially on wide screens.

🧠 Under-the-Hood Improvements

In addition to the front-end facelift, we’ve also done deep work to improve Astro’s core performance and responsiveness:

  • Refactored key components for stability and efficiency
  • Optimized how conversations load and render
  • Improved keyboard navigation and accessibility support
  • Smoothed out edge-case transitions between conversation states
